Abstract
The new species Pseudotorinia pliomarthae (Gastropoda: Architectonicidae) is described for the lower/middle Pliocene of Italy and Spain. This taxon, previously confused with Pseudotorinia architae (O.G. Costa, 1841), can be distinguished from the species Pseudotorinia marthae (Boettger, 1901) from the Miocene of the Paratethys by its larger size and other shell features.

Riassunto
Viene descritta Pseudotorinia pliomarthae n. sp. (Gastropoda: Architectonicidae) per il Pliocene inferiore/medio italiano e spagnolo. Questo taxon, in precedenza confuso con Pseudotorinia architae (O.G. Costa, 1841), si distingue dalla specie Pseudotorinia marthae (Boettger, 1901) del Miocene della Paratetide per le maggiori dimensioni e altri aspetti conchigliari.
